The Art of Making It Yours

At Basant Betons, customisation is a capability we have offered through the years. Right from mould development to  material science and structural engineering, we not only bring your design to life, but we make sure it can stand the test of time.

The three projects below are different in scale and purpose. What they share is a client with a specific vision, and a team that found a way to make it real.

A Brief That Started With Pug Marks
When the Taj Holiday Village team approached us, they arrived with a vision that was anything but standard: hexagonal concrete pavers embossed with tropical motifs — leaf patterns and animal pug marks — to reflect the resort's playful, family-oriented character.

The product also had to perform. The footpaths would serve a 140+ room property, carry buggy traffic, and endure Goa's coastal rains year after year. Charm and durability had to coexist.

The Process

We partnered with German mould manufacturers to develop custom hexagonal moulds with surface motifs. Six sharp corners demanded exceptional dimensional accuracy across full production. Two colours produced: classic grey and terracotta, to mirror North Goa's laterite cliffs. Total area supplied: 40,000 sq ft.
22 Years On
The paved areas stand intact. The motifs remain crisp — not flattened by foot traffic or washed away by rain. This is what it looks like when concrete is designed with both poetry and precision.
When the Site Itself Became the Material
The Collective Project, a Bangalore-based architecture firm, wanted to reuse debris from the existing building on-site, and source material that perfectly matched the same aesthetic.

The product: a rectangular concrete ventilator block designed to allow light flow while adding texture to the facade and interior, coloured to match the mud debris they were reusing

The Process

Mould sourcing and testing from architectural drawings. Careful rebar placement to maintain structural integrity block-on-block. Parallel colour-matching trials to achieve a precise match with the clay brick used in the same house. Multiple rounds of testing before the exact tone was confirmed.
Simple in form. Precise in execution. Concrete as architectural sensitivity.
Seating That Could Take What Students Give It
Outdoor seating in institutions faces a relentless set of challenges: displacement, weather damage, and the wear of endless daily usage. For RV College — with a student body of 5,000+ — the brief was to create seating that was practical, scalable, and genuinely built to last.

Our standard precast furniture combines concrete with wood or metal. For RV College, 100% concrete was the answer, as specified by the architect. We produced benches with and without backs, and precast concrete tables — all custom-designed as per the architect’s drawings, for the college's common spaces.

Beyond the Campus

The design found an audience beyond RV College. Strong client response led to repeat orders, proving that well-considered institutional design has a life beyond its first brief.
When something is made right, it tends to travel.
